Masterton District Band is proud to have been continuously serving the community since 1873. Our name may have changed from time to time, mostly to adapt to local government name changes, but the Band has been there without a break.

We are the de facto Band for the whole Wairarapa, performing anywhere from Mauriceville in the north to Featherston in the south. Christmas parades, Anzac Day parades, civic functions and community events such as the annual Teddy Bears' Picnic and the Relay for Life.

We are also an active "contesting" Band, and compete annually in the Wellington District Brass Band Association (WDBBA) Contest. At the 2016 BBANZ National Contest in Napier we placed first in the Stage March and and were second overall in the D Grade, losing by a mere one point.

We practice every Monday evening between 7pm and 9pm at our wonderful Bandroom in Park Avenue, Masterton.
